About Music & Movement
Music & Movement is a playful group program for young children and their caregivers. Each session brings together songs, rhythm, instruments, and simple movement activities that help children engage their bodies, listen closely, and take part in a shared experience that feels lively and fun.
Children might shake scarves, tap instruments, follow motions to a familiar song, move through a guided activity, or join a group circle with music woven throughout. Some parts of the session feel energetic and active. Others feel slower and more grounding. Together, they create a rhythm that helps children participate in ways that feel natural and enjoyable.
Caregivers stay with their child throughout the session and are part of the experience. Some children jump right into every song and movement. Others watch first, stay close, and join in gradually. Music & Movement is meant to feel encouraging, welcoming, and full of joyful participation.

What to expect when you arrive
Music & Movement takes place in an HFRC space set up for group participation, movement, and play. Families can expect a session with music playing an active role from start to finish, along with simple props or instruments that help children join in through movement and sound.
Caregivers stay with their child during the session and are encouraged to participate alongside them. Some children will want to dance, shake instruments, and move right away. Others may stay close for the first few songs before warming up. Both are completely okay here.
Expect a mix of standing, sitting, singing, moving, and following along in simple ways. Comfortable clothes are best, especially for children who like to fully jump into active play.
