CalendarThe Horseheads Family Resource Center is a fun and welcoming place for all families at no cost. Together with their parents or caregivers, young children make friends and learn through play. Our staff can answer questions big and small. With so many things to do, you are sure to find something your family will love!
Our programs are carefully planned to ensure that both you and your child will have a fun and educational experience. All of our programs are free of charge.
Our ProgramsThe Playful Learning Program provides families with the opportunity to learn together through play. Experienced staff are available to answer parenting questions.

Music & Movement is an engaging music class that incorporates all kinds of movement and participation to assist in the development of speech and motor skills.
Children and caregivers will build confidence and friendships.
If you are looking for some socialization, light exercise, and a fun way to explore our favorite local parks and hangouts, stroller walk is for you! Walks are held at parks, trails, and the Arnot Mall. We also provide a healthy snack!
Strollers are optional. Siblings welcome.
The Summer Lunch Program provides lunches for children ages 18 and under. This program takes place in Sullivan Park (Thorne St. Park). Lunch is served 12pm - 1pm each day with a special program following from 1pm - 2pm. No registration is required!
Our parent education workshops and classes are a wonderful resource for families, and include our Playful Parenting Workshop.
These programs will help you strengthen your bond with and understand your child.
The Supervised Visit Program is designed so non-custodial parents and their children can visit, play, and bond in a warm, child-centered environment while staff help them reach their goals and promote positive parenting.
These programs are free! Our Arnot Mall location is near JCPenney and Door #2 location at 3300 Chambers Road in Horseheads, next to Olympia. Our Church Playroom & Gym are at the First United Methodist Church at 1034 West Broad Street in Horseheads. Programs marked with an asterisk (*) require pre-registration.
